#HelloMonday and goodbye to our old way of life

WOW, what a Monday huh! Second day of work at the University of Central Florida and now the entire campus is on remote, students, faculty and staff. Everyone is tip toeing around the fact that most Americans are 2 paychecks from homelessness, even though we THINK we are doing so well, the reality is things are bad. Even before this coronavirus, most employees never fully recuperated from 2006, corporation realized we, as workers, would take less pay, just to have a job... so the decade of not making a "living wage" began and never stopped.... the middle class went away, the rich got richer but the poor got poorer.

Now, on top of all that, let's add an arrogant President, a dysfunctional WhiteHouse, Senate and House.. fake news, lies, deceit and corruption... and now you have 2020, the cherry on top (ugggg) is coronavirus! Everyone is working remote, the kids are out of school, businesses are failing left and right, restaurants and everything else is closed.. but yet some think this is a joke, fake news, a way to get at Trump... REALLY? The whole world made this up to hurt Trump's chances at re-election, 182,185 confirmed cases and 7,148 DEAD, Italy, France, Korea... none of them give two craps about Trump and most don't ever know who he is... so guess again TRUMPETS...

The truth is, the world got caught with its pants down... we become compliance and begin to take for granted that the world revolved around us. While we spent hundreds of dollars at Publix, and thousands of dollars at Amazon, traveled the world, cruised and partied, the world and people around us grew more desperate to find hope and a living wage. Homelessness and addiction are the children of despair, greed and pride are the children of a corrupt government, a bohementh of a social media influence aka Twitter and Facebook fueled the fire of discontent and then this VIRUS put a cork in the volcano called life!

How do we go on, how do we recoup from the worst thing that has happened to our way of life since 1918? With a looming economic depression and fears abound we must RISE above and say, I will NOT let this define the 21st century! When you read about us in the next century, you WILL NOT read about a nation that rolled over on it's back, you will read about a nation that pulled together through insurmountable odds and pulled itself up by its bootstraps and started hashtags like #DontBeASpreader and #DoingMyPartCo to show not everyone is NOT totally self absorbed and selfish. We banded together to care for the elderly aka #ProtectOurSeniors because they are our mother, fathers, grandmothers and grandfathers and we're not willing to lose an entire generation. States and municipalities around the nation gave up on waiting for the White House to make decisions and ventured out and did their own thing, saving hundred if not thousands of lives, so see... there is HOPE. Never count us out because we don't surrender, we will FIND A WAY... so dig deep - the next few weeks will be tough, but never lose HOPE and know, together, we will make it through this!

And yes, I'm 20 minutes late for Monday.... I was thinking, giggle ;o)
