Fraud in the Ministry of Health?
We often hear people say that “theres probably some miracle plant in the Amazon."
Maybe there is, but there is also a miraculous health plant in NZ. As the boss of MedSafe, Dr Stewart Jessamine, told select committee in 2017, "the danger of cannabis is that it could be used to treat conditions for which there are already products on the market."
This is true. His department, MedSafe, is funded by levies on Big Pharma. Is that why his department is obstructing public access to cannabis? Because when you look at their actions and statements, obstruction is clearly what they do. Even though MedSafe has a statutory duty to “investigate new uses”, they constantly act unethically and do exactly the wrong thing. They act beyond their powers, they show wanton disregard for the facts, and they evade their legal obligations to abide by their scientific advisors. NZs Chief Forensic scientist has fought them for years "to defend the integrity of the criminal justice system," but its their bureaucratic turf, so they've won those battles so far.
Its sad really, our bureaucrats not doing their duty to the public. Instead, their actions are protecting the private profits of foreign multinationals, and causing suffering, death, and economic loss to our nation. It’s essentially treason. It reflects poorly on us all. Is every govt department like this? Or is it just Health?
There is a reason that this Health plant has been held sacred in every culture thats ever grown it. There is a reason that it has been prohibited in the corporate dominated west. Because its safe, cheap, and effective.
Heres the thing, it works because human health is regulated by cannabis molecules[1] we make inside our bodies-that’s why cannabis is ‘medicinal’. But its most medicinal as a simple vegetable, not as a drug. It’s a dietary supplement, but MoH doesn’t want you to know that.
Dr Jessamine is right. It really could replace a lot of the existing products on the market, but big pharma is a $1.1 trillion dollar industry of well documented corporate criminality. Harvard Medical School showed that in 2017s "The Opioid Crisis: a broken pharmaceutical market." Other eminent scientists, (such as Peter C. G?tzsche, co-founder of the worlds most prestigious scientific review organisation the Cochrane Collaboration) have called big pharma “organised crime,” and it is. Multi-billion dollar fines for 'fraudulent marketing' and 'anti-competitive practices' are a small business expense when revenues are $1.1 trillion.
Thats why we are being misinformed, instead of hearing true facts like: “safer than alcohol…a legitimate advance in therapeutic option.” (MoH 2008 ‘Cannabis Therapeutics’).
So, the question is, why does MedSafe treat cannabis as a threat to Big Pharma, instead of an opportunity for the patients, taxpayers, and citizens of New Zealand? Their actions show them to be active opponents to this remarkable food, fibre, medicine, and pleasure. Their goal, the very gradual 'medicalising' of cannabis, is to privatise and restrict cannabis. It becomes a specialist commodity, available only to the wealthy, and not disruptive to the status quo.
But if you're over 40, you should consider protecting your brains, bones, sex drive, heart, and more with industrial hemp foods. You cant get high off that.
Its a shame that MoH and MPI want to make our twelve legal industrial hemp crops illegal for 'therapeutic purposes'. Who will benefit from that? You? Me? Or Pharma?
It seems they simply want to keep us away from the healthiest cannabinoid, CBD.
Its time we held them accountable.

6 年Here’s the basis for the existing hemp regulations. As Dr Jessamine (of MedSafe) said this year, “the biggest problem with the regulations is the way we have been (and are) interpreting them”. But their plan to ‘prohibit industrial hemp for therapeutic uses’ promises to fix that issue for them, and legally deny the public access to health promoting hemp.
