关于我们
Thresholds provides healthcare, housing, and hope for thousands of persons with mental health and substance use conditions in Illinois each year. Through care, employment, advocacy, and housing, Thresholds assists and inspires people to reclaim their lives. Thresholds is one of the oldest and largest providers of recovery services for persons with mental health and substance use conditions in Illinois. We offer 30 innovative programs at more than 75 locations throughout Chicago, the adjacent suburbs, and four surrounding counties. Services include assertive outreach, case management, housing, employment, education, psychiatry, primary care, substance use treatment, and research. Thresholds’ staff meets people where they are – out in the community. Offering services in a community-based setting makes them more accessible and effective and lessens the social exclusion that is often present in the lives of persons living with mental illnesses and substance use conditions. This allows our staff and clients to work on skills, clinical interventions, and recovery that allows them to live independent lives in their own neighborhoods Our clients are all unique – coming from vastly different backgrounds and arriving with different needs, talents, and hopes. Each client works with our staff to set their own specific short-term goals and objectives, based on their needs, desires, and level of self-sufficiency. Recovery from mental illnesses and substance use is possible. Recovery is a process of finding and living a satisfying and meaningful life, as one defines it for oneself. We assist our clients as they work to reclaim a positive sense of self, and discover their own potential, gifts, and skills.

We are so honored to be selected as a spotlight on the First Bank Chicago Community Art Wall. “Every piece of art you’re enjoying today was proudly created by Thresholds’ clients. Through creative expression, our clients find new ways to heal, connect, and grow. Each piece is a testament to the power of collaboration and the importance of supportive mental healthcare. Together, we can not only create beautiful artwork, but a happier and healthier community,” said Thresholds' Casey Bridge of the Marketing and Communications team. https://bit.ly/4885oc7 #creativeart #creativeartstherapy #thresholds #homehealthhope

We are so proud to officially announce the opening of Thresholds' Center for Mental Wellbeing - South, a new addition to our existing location and expansion of our mental health and substance use services on Chicago's Southside. Thresholds has proudly served Chicago's southside communities for more than 50 years! And with the expanded services offered through the Center for Mental Wellbeing (a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic), we will be able to help even more people, regardless of their ability to pay, throughout their lifespan. This has been years in the making, and we are so thankful for all the people who got us yesterday, including our staff, board of directors, donors, community members and elected officials. And a very special thank you to all the staff who endured years of construction, never letting it interrupt our vital services. This is all for you, because of you! #thresholds #homehealthhope #chicago #southsidechicago #mentalhealth

Congratulations to Garth N. Walker, MD, MPH on being named a Crain's Chicago Business 40 Under 40! ?? ?? Thresholds is proud to have his knowledge, experience and leadership on our board of directors, where he holds an officer position as assistant secretary. “What I've tried to do is be thoughtful around identifying roles where I’ll really be able to speak to social determinants of health and what that means for health care and what that means for Black and Brown communities,” he says. https://bit.ly/3YioZ6f #40under40 #crainschicago #crains40under40 #congratulations

It's Mental Illness Awareness Week ?? shining a light on mental illnesses and the ways they impact our lives. If you're in a room of 10 people, chances are at least two of those people are living with a mental health condition. It is also likely that someone you know and love has a mental illness that affects their daily life. At Thresholds, we have been helping people with serious mental illnesses and substance use conditions for 65 years, providing affordable, accessible and equitable treatment, housing, healthcare, and so much more. Above all, we believe that recovery is possible. This #MentalIllnessAwarenessWeek, we encourage you to share one (or all) of these images and be part of the conversation to help end the stigma around mental health! #mentalhealth #MentalHealthAwareness #mentalillness #mentalillnessawareness #thresholds #homehealthhope

The Rush Oak Park Community Engagement Council provides feedback to the hospital and the Office of Community Health Equity and Engagement on issues of interest in the Oak Park community. Thresholds’ Community Engagement and Equity Coordinator, Rosy joined the council earlier this year and was featured in the latest edition of the Rush Oak Park Hospital Community Connections e-newsletter!? ? "I truly believe the state of the mental health of our most marginalized local communities is a crisis. And unfortunately, so much of that is due to the lack of access to locally grown food or grocery stores, unaffordable housing options, lack of training for mental health support in the workplace, inclusive and safe public third spaces, supportive re-integration into society from the carceral system, multi-generational acts of relational repair from intergenerational trauma. I could truly go on. A way that our council can help support the mental health needs of the local community is by organizing and promoting consistent mental wellness fairs where organizations addressing these barriers are brought together in one place to provide information through workshops, support groups and even confidential in-person intakes to get further services.” #communityengagement #mentalhealth #mentalhealthequity #oakpark
