The collaboration between Hispanic Heritage Foundation and Minecraft Education (Mojang Studios) represents a partnership founded on a shared vision of empowering future innovators through the universal language of Minecraft. As Hispanic Heritage Month comes to a close, I want to take a moment to recognize the National Hispanic Media Coalition (NHMC), an organization near and dear to me as I proudly serve on the board of directors. I was truly inspired by the NHMC DC's recent Impact Awards Reception, where we celebrated leaders and organizations making a difference, including Janet Murguíaía, Rep. Jasmine Crockett, Rep. Greg Casar, the Hispanic Heritage Foundation Antonio Tijerino, and Minecraft. A special shout-out to trailblazer Emilio Gonzalez, who was also honored at the event! Great seeing you past honoree, Commissioner Anna Gomez! Thank you to the NHMC team for bringing this incredible event to life, and a special thank you and recognition to Brenda Castillo, the visionary behind NHMC. Brenda has made it her mission to push for more diverse representation in media and content and to elevate and uplift Latino voices.
