Center of Life (COL) is a community-empowerment organization located in the Greater Hazelwood Neighborhood of Pittsburgh, PA. Our programs focus on music and arts, athletics, and education. Our Vision is to empower and equip families to bring economic revitalization to their communities. Our Mission is to provide families and youth with the life-skills, education, training, and resources necessary to be strong and to make their communities strong.

Exciting news from Center of Life CEO and President Tim Smith as plans for a $60 million to $70 million community development project in?Hazelwood Green were announced Friday. Learn more about the partnerships that made this project possible. Center of Life received a two-year operating support grant from our Foundation in 2023.
I am so excited to see this project launching! Green Building Alliance and Center of Life have been collectively dreaming about this for years, and Pastor Tim Smith is one of the region’s biggest champions for sustainable living and green buildings. But last week’s announcement is a huge milestone towards the reality of a community space that prioritizes health, quality of life, resilience, beauty, efficiency, and sustainability.
