At Women's World Banking Asset Management, we are in the business of building more #genderdiverse companies and ensuring products and services reach women and men equally. We see this as an imperative not only from a fairness perspective but also for #businesssuccess. In 2019, we introduced deep-dive, data-driven Gender Performance Studies (GPS), providing market and organizational insights, helping each portfolio company identify specific opportunities to better reach women with their products and services and to employ more Women in their workforces. Over the course of 6 GPS studies, Women's World Banking Asset Management identified a set of insights and recommendations that were common across many, if not all, of the studies. As a result, we have created the Gender Performance Checklist, a core checklist for gender-responsive operations. This report, along with all of our GPS studies, are funded by the European Commission and the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). For women near the poverty line, this can mean the difference between recovery and financial ruin. PULA is helping bridge this gap by offering affordable agricultural insurance to protect farmers from climate risks. In Kenya, their innovative approach reduced income volatility by 30%, and in Ghana, it boosted the use of drought-resistant seeds by 40%.
