People often separate purpose and profit in business, but we believe they go hand in hand. Doing good and doing well are not mutually exclusive. Macy Andrews’ words really resonate with us. In today’s landscape, it’s more vital than ever to integrate purpose into our business models. But how do we truly achieve that balance? For us, bridging economic gaps, driving philanthropic impact, and amplifying women's leadership are key ways to create wealth for women whilst also providing meaningful change for society. Where do you see the biggest overlap between purpose and profit in your own experiences? What practical steps can other businesses take? Representation matters at CSW69 - I'm delighted to be back in New York City again joining my fellow co-founders of Women in Philanthropy and Impact Africa, Dr Anino Emuwa Thelma Ekiyor. This year's gathering of over eight thousand gender equality advocates, activists and leaders at CSW69 is pivotal as the theme will review the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action (Beijing+30). It will include an assessment of current achievements within gender equality, the empowerment of women and contributions towards the full realization of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Being part of the conversations and call to action at CSW69 is critical for us at WIPIA, as we endeavour to pioneer and harness the power of catalytic philanthropy and it's impact as a driver for gender equality and women’s leadership for transformative social and economic change in Africa. We look forward to meeting our community during this week at various dialogues, sharing updates for this year and closing off with a high level by-invite only dinner with some of the women leaders attending the conference. #wipia #Philanthropy #csw69 #genderequality #investments #africa

Caption: Big news! Congratulations to our own Cláudia Pinto | Member, WIPIA Global Advisory Council; Philanthropy & Sustainability Advisor to HH Sheikh Marwan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum; and Founder of The Empowering Women, for her feature on the cover of Forbes Arabia! This recognition highlights her transformative work in sustainability, philanthropy, and leadership—creating tangible pathways for women’s economic inclusion. Her impact reinforces the fundamental truth that gender equality, especially in leadership, isn’t just a social cause; it’s a global game-changer! While we continue to champion women and causes that shape industry, drive impact, and lead change in Africa, we encourage every woman leader out there to keep breaking those glass ceilings! Congratulations again, Claudia Pinto #WIPIA #Womenleaders #Womeninphilanthropy #Catalyticphilanthropy #ForbesArabia

The urgency to build a future where no woman or girl is left behind has never been greater. As the world marks International Women’s Day, the UN Women's theme- For ALL women and girls: Rights. Equality. Empowerment. is more than a statement—it is a call to movement. We believe that by leveraging catalytic philanthropy and investing in solutions that bridge gaps in healthcare, technology, education, entrepreneurship, and climate action, real, lasting impact can be created. Unlocking opportunities for women and girls to lead, innovate, and shape a world built on equity, empowerment, and progress is not just necessary—it is the way forward. This is the future we are working toward. How are you accelerating action in your space today? #WIPIA #IWD2025 #AccelerateAction #Catalyticphilanthropy #Womenleaders

Women are breaking barriers, leading innovations, and shaping the future—from STEM to leadership, finance to policy. Their strides are undeniable. Yet, the road ahead remains uneven. Gaps in healthcare, technology, and economic opportunities persist—not just for women, but for society as a whole. When half the population is held back, progress stalls for everyone. This is why we push forward. As a network of women leaders driving change in emerging technologies, healthcare, entrepreneurship, and climate action, we believe in the power of catalytic philanthropy to turn the tide. We reiterate Emma Watson’s message here and say, “Women make up half the population, so we will take up all the space we desire.” The real question is—how are you ensuring the next generation can? #Womensleadership #Catalyticphilanthropy #Womeninphilanthropy #WIPIA

The global wealth landscape is evolving, with more women achieving financial independence—and research shows they give even more generously than men. As this shift accelerates and more wealth moves into the hands of women, what are the implications for catalytic philanthropy and the future of impact-driven giving? Women’s leadership is essential for accelerating global progress. When women lead, power dynamics shift, conversations evolve, and decisions begin to reflect voices that have long been overlooked. As a network, we understand the impact of women leaders in key sectors. That’s why our mission is to facilitate strategic collaborations, leveraging our collective resources and expertise to drive meaningful change in Africa. Catalytic philanthropy drives real impact for women and girls, especially in bridging the existing health and technology gap and advancing female-led entrepreneurship and education. The best time to step up and take charge is now. #WIPIA #Womenleaders #Womeninleadership #Womeninphilanthropy #Womenhistorymonth

Back at the UN: Advancing Gender Equality & Philanthropy for Impact After our debut at UNGA in September, our founders; Dr. Anino Emuwa; Thelma Ekiyor-Solanke; and Dr. Sindy Zemura-Bernard; return to the United Nations as official delegates at CSW69—the UN’s largest gathering on gender equality. With a focus on Beijing+30, they will reaffirm our commitment to philanthropy as a driving force for progress. At CSW69, our mission is to: ? Advocate for gender equality in global policy discussions ? Hold bilateral meetings with key stakeholders ? Host a high-level dinner uniting governments, philanthropy, and impact-driven institutions to explore solutions for gender equity and sustainable development in Africa At WIPIA, we believe strategic collaboration is key to advancing women’s entrepreneurship, education, healthcare, technology, and climate action—all critical areas for closing gender gaps. Our work aligns with the Beijing Platform for Action and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development to create lasting impact. Women’s leadership is essential, and philanthropy is a powerful tool for change. How can we leverage it to drive progress across Africa? Drop your thoughts in the comments—we’d love to hear from you! #CSW69 #GenderEquality #WomenInLeadership #PhilanthropyForImpact

Women currently control a third of global wealth, but in the next five years, an estimated $30 trillion will shift into their hands—putting them in control of nearly 50% of global wealth. Think about that. Women leaders already drive impact with limited resources. What happens when they control half of the world’s financial power? Philanthropy will evolve—not as charity, but as strategic capital for systemic change. With greater financial influence, women leaders will have the power to shape industries, drive sustainable investments, and redefine how resources are allocated for long-term impact. The question isn’t if women will shape the future. It’s how bold that future will be.
