Inspired by their dream of providing quality food to the Madison communities without access to it, Samba Baldeh and Jerreh Kujabi founded Go-Oh Grocery to aid a food desert in Madison. After consulting with Amy Zimmerman at the SBDC, their vision was blooming into life. In March 2023, Therese Merkel, owner of Tricky Foods, was expanding her charcuterie and cheese styling business into a brick-and-mortar space but realized she would need some help. After being recommended the SBDC, Merkel participated in the Accounting and Projection Clinic, ran by Anne Inman, being able to get a loan and the financial confidence to expand! The goal is that this location is the first of many more to come and the financial competency that the SBDC offered Merkel will help her achieve it!
