关于我们
The WIB-Pittsburgh chapter (of Women In Bio) is working to support recognized and emerging women leaders in the biosciences industry of Western Pennsylvania, Eastern Ohio and West Virginia. Our mission is to promote knowledge sharing among women, impact regional economic growth and stimulate empowerment among women leaders. We believe that women have the unique potential for improving companies' strategic positions and growth by offering intelligence, spirit, leadership and vision to the biotech, pharmaceutical, and healthcare industries. We promote entrepreneurship, innovation, education, and mentorship among women across our region. Through our chapter, women can connect and network with industry peers. We optimize opportunities for women to achieve the greatest potential in their careers and professional development.

Last week's event organized by WIB-Pittsburgh's Executive Women in Bio committee at August Wilson African American Cultural Center turned out to be a bold, candid and timely conversation. While our speakers discussed their views and experience of utilizing executive platforms for furthering community engagement and service to derive value for one's organizations, little did we imagine being in the current climate where encouraging diversity and inclusion is frowned upon. Thank you to Jennifer Beer, Divya Annamraju ACC (she, her), Sabrina Saunders Mosby and Alanna Caffas for discussing how their mission driven organizations are considering dealing with these important leadership values, and what tools and metrics can still find relevance in these changing times. Chelsea Marsh moderated some difficult topics within this discussion to bring out nuanced thoughts balanced with heart and courage. Thanks also to Ellen Freeman for an immigration update to our membership. With Meredith Fay, PhD, Julie Cramer, PhD, MS, Jessica Zeff, Parul Nisha, PhD, Sydney Lamerand, Tiffany Prince (she/her), Jennifer Luke, PhD, Lindsey Pamer, Rachel (Woofter) Kopper. Stephanie Kladakis, Megan Kahn Shaw, Katherine Shannon, Rajini Vinayagamoorthy, Rachael Dodaro, MBA and Kerry Boehner #leadership #service #communityengagement #diversity #equity #inclusion #lifesciences #volunteering
