Expressions of interest now being accepted for the ITE 2025 Sandbox Competition! As transportation options evolve, how people access the multitude of trip options expands. Our communities currently face the challenges and opportunities to influence mode choice through design. Mobility hubs serve as key locations for mode choice. Through introduction of mobility hubs, both engineers and planners have an opportunity to enhance the equality of access to new transportation modes and design resilience of the built environment for all users. The?2025 Sandbox Competition focuses on?mobility hub concept development and?design. The competition includes applying a variety of strategic, programmatic, and tactical solutions to improve the resilience of all users in a typical urban (or suburban) setting. Great ITE Hawaii Section Annual Meeting last night. We usually do this event on Waikiki Beach but circumstances this year had us hosting this in the Goldwings Conference Room. Everyone had so much fun with the giant jenga, cornhole, and our version of family feud. Our game was called “Wat! You like beef?” and pitted our students against the professionals. In addition, we welcomed in our newly elected Section officers: President Michelle Lindsey, VP Joel Thomas, and Sec-Treasurer Josh Ramelb. Great way to end a successful year.
