At last week’s VMware #Explore, I had the privilege of hosting the Sovereign Cloud panel for Press and Analysts. For a growing number of organisations, digital sovereignty is a key design factor when developing business solutions, making the consumption of public clouds increasingly challenging. As the panel discussed, one of the challenges is the lack of a clear definition of a Sovereign Cloud. Unlike Public Cloud, Private Cloud, Hybrid cloud, or Multi-Cloud, for example, all of which have unambiguous and well-established definitions, no such definition exists for Sovereign Cloud - which, to be perfectly frank, allows some of the prominent public cloud vendors to play fast and loose with the term “Sovereign.” The market for Sovereign Cloud solutions is expected to increase exponentially in the coming years. Fortunately, VMware’s #sovereign cloud initiative is a key enabler of digital innovation without compromising data protection. Broadcom has developed a network of sovereign cloud partners across Europe and the globe to meet these needs. ?
