It's National Healthy Schools Day and Mid-Atlantic Center for Children's Health & the Environment (MACCHE) has a bunch of info and resources to share.
The MACCHE Team wishes you a happy National Healthy Schools Day! Did you know that there are common-sense measures for preventing, diagnosing, and resolving most indoor air quality (IAQ) problems in schools with minimal cost and work? If you are a school nurse, tracking health records and records of health-related complaints by students and staff could be useful for evaluating potential IAQ problems – see the checklist and backgrounder for more information - links are at the end of this post. If you are a teacher, promoting and maintaining the cleanliness of your classroom helps ensure good IAQ of your classroom. See the checklist and backgrounder for more information - links are at the end of this post. If you are a school administrator, ensuring the whole school is clean helps with good IAQ of the school and reduces student absences. See the checklist and backgrounder for more information - links are at the end of this post. Visit the EPA’s IAQ Tools for Schools Action Kit website for more about preventing, diagnosing, and resolving IAQ issues in schools.
