Exciting news for Tasmania! ???? Tasmania’s container deposit scheme, TasRecycle, is officially launching on 1 May 2025! This initiative will give Tasmanians a 10 cent refund for returning eligible drink containers at designated refund points - helping to reduce litter, create clean streams of recycled materials, and support a circular economy. ?? Congratulations to TasRecycle , Department of Natural Resources and Environment Tasmania (NRE Tas), and TOMRA Cleanaway Tasmania on this major milestone! We can’t wait to see the impact TasRecycle will have on Tasmania’s communities and environment.

Meet Sayo - the ‘Canbassador’! By collecting eligible drink containers, she’s been able to supplement her income, and support her love of ice hockey. Her colourful bins and creative approach have helped her collect thousands of containers each month, all while keeping Melbourne’s streets cleaner. ?? Want to get involved? Big news, Melbourne! ?? We are proud to announce the first large-format Reverse Vending Machine (RVM) in the heart of Melbourne’s CBD – and it’s the first of its kind in any Australian CBD! ???? We celebrated this milestone with a special event featuring Steve Dimopoulos MP! This large RVM joins two smaller machines already operating on Queen Street and Mackenzie Street, making it easier than ever to return your containers while you’re out and about in the city. ?? We had so much fun at Springvale celebrating Lunar New Year Festival last Sunday??? If you played the CDS Vic recycling rally with us, the record time was 15 seconds. That is to say, it took 15 seconds for the winner to separate the eligible containers from the ineligible containers in a shopping bag full of containers! We were proud to sponsor the St Albans and Springvale events this year.

A Tin Shed That Rocks… and Floats! ?? Over in Gippsland, Bernie and Ruth Ryan have turned an incredible idea into a community favourite: the Paynesville Floating Tin Shed, a music venue like no other - floating on a lake! From free concerts to a spectacular New Year’s Eve fireworks show, this unique space brings joy to locals every summer. Thanks to their hard work collecting eligible containers, Bernie and Ruth have raised over $10,000 this year alone! Every cent goes directly to supporting live entertainment for the community. ??
