From November 1 2023, Victorians will get 10c from each eligible drink container, building our circular economy

关于我们

Victoria's Container Deposit Scheme (CDS Vic) has arrived. The State-wide scheme aims to provide a large network of more than 500 Refund Points, where Victorians can exchange eligible containers for a 10c refund. With a goal of saving millions of drink containers from landfill, CDS Vic will help to build Victoria's circular economy, whilst putting money into the pockets of Victorians, communities and charities. That's a lot of change.

  • The latest Clean Up Australia report reveals that plastics make up a staggering 80.7% of all litter counted to the end of FY24, with single-use plastics - including soft plastics, food packaging, and beverage containers - accounting for the vast majority of that. While Victoria's Container Deposit Scheme launched partway through the reporting period, we know we've got an important role to play in reducing litter across the state. In FY24, beverage containers made up 16.3% of litter collected. That's a lot of 10-cent refunds going to waste! Every container returned through CDS Vic makes a big difference ?? https://lnkd.in/gYr8SWm6

  • Big news, Melbourne! ?? We are proud to announce the first large-format Reverse Vending Machine (RVM) in the heart of Melbourne’s CBD – and it’s the first of its kind in any Australian CBD! ???? We celebrated this milestone with a special event featuring Steve Dimopoulos MP! This large RVM joins two smaller machines already operating on Queen Street and Mackenzie Street, making it easier than ever to return your containers while you’re out and about in the city. ?? • We had so much fun at Springvale celebrating Lunar New Year Festival last Sunday??? If you played the CDS Vic recycling rally with us, the record time was 15 seconds. That is to say, it took 15 seconds for the winner to separate the eligible containers from the ineligible containers in a shopping bag full of containers! We were proud to sponsor the St Albans and Springvale events this year.
