D-Orbit’s ION in-orbit demonstration mission will be equipped with Addvalue Innovation’s Inter-satellite Data Relay System (IDRS) equipment and Viasat’s satcom with a goal of delivering ground-breaking infrastructure-as-a-service capabilities: ??? Real-time tasking ??? Seamless software deployment ??? Direct delivery of edge-processed data The mission is set for mid-2025, and will be underpinned by the reliability of our global L-band geostationary satellites and leading ground infrastructure. This pioneering collaboration seeks to remove connectivity barriers, and meet the needs of governments and agencies pushing the limits of multi-orbit solutions. Viasat was invited to participate at the NATO Allied Rapid Reaction Corps (ARRC)’s Command, Control and Communications (C3) industry day at their HQ in the UK. The International Government team had the chance to deploy and demonstrate our tactical networking solutions including NetAgility and L-TAC, amongst other products, that are built to offer modern command post adaptability, survivability, integration and resilience. We were honoured to collaborate with the fantastic team at Redeployable this month to host an exclusive workshop for military service leavers! From exploring the wide range of space industry roles suited to valuable military skills, to tailoring CVs and carrying out mock interviews, it was a packed full-day event. Participants took a tour of the Viasat Network Operations Centre (NOC), heard from top space industry professionals in tailored talks, and had the chance to network with fellow service leaders. At Viasat, we have a deep understanding of the unique impact military skills have in the working world, but especially in our industry. Network Operations Centre Controller, Platform Operations Engineer, and Solutions Engineer are just some of the roles in which service leavers excel.
