I recently had an incredible opportunity to visit PACCAR Parts and dive deep into the intricacies of their supply chain strategy. It was fascinating to see firsthand how they manage the sourcing of heavy-duty truck parts, a process that demands precision and efficiency due to the size and weight of these components. Learning about how PACCAR optimizes routing to ensure the smooth, timely delivery of parts really showcased the company’s commitment to operational excellence and innovation in logistics. A special thanks to Sarah Iacolucci for generously sharing her expertise and providing an in-depth look into PACCAR’s innovative supply chain strategies. The PDC tour was an absolute highlight, offering us a firsthand view of how efficiently stock pickers manage inventory—swiftly and accurately gathering parts with a streamlined, time-efficient approach. Witnessing the precision and coordination in their operations was both inspiring and enlightening. This experience was so much more than just a tour; it was a truly value-added learning opportunity, giving us a unique perspective on advanced supply chain optimization and planning. I’m incredibly grateful to Liz Satwicz- PMP, MPA and UW Foster Master of Supply Chain Management (MSCM) for making this experience possible! #PACCAR #SupplyChain #Universityofwashington #Foster #GlobalSupplychain #Fosterschoolofbusiness
