Equality Index Shows Business Commitment to LGBTQ+ Inclusion & Equitable Benefits The 2025 Corporate Equality Index, released by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation, rated 1,449 businesses on their LGBTQ+ workplace policies and practices. The index saw a 28% increase in companies achieving a perfect score of 100, with 765 businesses receiving the Equality 100 Award, including retailers Amazon, Dollar Tree, Meijer, Kroger and Target. These White Male CEOs Got Wealthier From Diversity-Linked Pay ????? White men make up the majority of 28 chief executive officers who were paid bonuses for meeting their company’s diversity, equity and inclusion goals last year, according to analysis by Farient Advisors LLC, an executive compensation consulting firm. The CEOs, whose businesses set how much of their bonuses were tied to short-term DEI goals as well as their payouts, collectively took home about $5 million. ??? ???How could this election change Financial Services???? It feels like ages ago, but this political cycle has been a long one. ??? Three months ago, I wrote about how Project 2025 could impact us in financial services, inspired by Tobias Salinger’s piece in Financial Planning Magazine. The stakes are high, especially for those of us in the industry and our historically underrepresented groups like women and the LGBT community. ?????? To understand the potential impact of a Trump presidency on LGBT financial professionals and women, we need only look at Tammy Baldwin’s current race. Tammy is facing a MAGA Republican opponent who owns a $3B bank in Southern California and has a property in Laguna worth $7M. Tammy’s girlfriend of six years, a financial advisor, has been targeted in a barrage of commercials attacking Tammy for being gay and demanding her girlfriend disclose her assets, investments, and clients. This is a clear violation of our commitment to client confidentiality. ?? Project 2025 threatens to undermine FINRA and the SEC, potentially removing the guardrails that protect our clients’ information and assets. If you think you’ll be unaffected because you survived the first time or feel shielded by our industry, think again. ???
