The Raptor Center at the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine reveals that some raptors, including bald eagles, have been exposed to highly pathogenic avian influenza (H5N1) and survived. This groundbreaking study highlights the resilience of wild raptors and the critical role of wildlife rehabilitation in tracking emerging infectious diseases. With H5N1 continuing to circulate globally, ongoing surveillance is essential to protect these iconic birds. Learn more: https://z.umn.edu/ab2s

Be a part of research in action! Join the webinar to learn more about being a part of this important study.
Join us for a free informational webinar at 6:00 p.m. (CT) on March 10 that dives into the UMN Animal Cancer Care program’s Lymphoma Risk Assessment (LyRA) study. z.umn.edu/a9ni Lymphoma is one of the most common cancers diagnosed in dogs. Researchers of the ACCR and Research program are testing new methods of identifying dogs at a higher risk of developing lymphoma. In so doing, the team’s goal is to also develop interventions that will reduce such risk and delay, or ideally prevent the disease from happening altogether. ??
