Thanks to everyone who made the visit and talk of Tymofiy Mylovanov, the President of the Kyiv School of Economics (KSE), at the University of Massachusetts Amherst today so informative and extremely timely. Special thanks to UMass Amherst Provost Fouad Abd-El-Khalick, Vice Provost Kalpen Trivedi, SBS Dean Karl Rethemeyer, and Isenberg School of Management, UMass Amherst Senior Associate Dean Lisa Pike Masteralexis for joining us at lunch with thanks also to the exchange students from KSE and our OM Isenberg PhD students plus OIM Chair Senay Solak and Professor Bogdan Prokopovych ???? for meeting with him. Mylovanov's talk, "Future of Europe if Ukraine Loses," generated many questions and attracted an audience from UMass Amherst, Amherst College, and the community. Discussions continued at the excellent reception, thanks to the UMass Amherst Office of Global Affairs. The partnership between #UMassAmherst and KSE continues to flourish with Virtual Scholars in Ukraine collaborating and publishing with faculty at UMass Amherst as well as with PhD students. Leading a university in wartime is extraordinarily challenging and doing so with the energy and innovation of Dr. Mylovanov and his team inspires.

It was a great pleasure to welcome David Clay MBE, HM Consul General in Boston to campus yesterday for his first visit to the University of Massachusetts Amherst. We packed a lot into his day with a visit to the UMass Amherst Institute for Applied Life Sciences, meetings with campus leadership, #research talks on #cleanenergy and #evnironmentalscience, presentations on #studentmobility, and afternoon tea with British faculty, staff, and students. Our very own Kimberly Stender joined colleagues from VCU Global Education Office and University of Rochester to share expertise and best practices in supporting the work of global engagement and citizen diplomacy at the annual NAPAHE conference in Washington, DC.
While I am proud of the many collaborative projects that we undertake in the VCU Global Education Office, I want to highlight a very special recent collaboration that underscores the power of interinstitutional networking for the benefit of internationalization. GEO’s Director of Operations, Jessica Abernathy, joined Michelle Bopp-Smith of the University of Rochester and Kimberly Stender of the University of Massachusetts Amherst to present on effective practices in supporting international delegation visits at the NAPAHE conference in Washington, DC.
