What a great conversation! Yesterday, ULI Washington’s Full Member Engagement committee gathered real estate and land use professionals across our region at Ballard Spahr’s Washington, D.C office to share a meal and discuss housing challenges and opportunities in Montgomery County. ?? TAP Presentation Announcement: the Marlboro Pike Corridor TAP! On April 2 and 3, a TAP will convene in pursuit of strategies for promoting responsible development and redevelopment, neighborhood revitalization, and housing stock diversification of the Marlboro Pike Corridor in Prince George's County, MD. This Panel of land use experts will deliver recommendations to the sponsors of this effort – Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission?- Prince George's County Planning Department?and the Marlboro Pike Partnership CDC (https://lnkd.in/eVavmCbM)?– on actionable and effective methods, strategies, and recommendations to enhance walkability and multimodal transit, develop urban design guidelines, and support the health of residents. The Housing Council met yesterday at the beautiful Sycamore & Oak for a conversation on achieving speed to market on development projects through alternative construction methods like prefabricated and modular construction. The group dove into the ways these methods could help deliver affordable units, shared insights into the kinds of projects that would likely see success in the current market, and examined the true costs and benefits of these systems with leaders in the construction, design, and development of these projects.
