??♀? DSI is announcing a Competition with Awards and Certificates! ?? Today DSI announced a competition in which participants will gather data to produce a visualization of the collaborative network connecting DSI-affiliated faculty and researchers ?? The three best entries will receive a gift card between $100-$300 and an award certificate from the DSI. The winners will be announced at the coming Data Science / DARWIN Symposium on February 12-13, 2025. Entries will be due for judging on January 20, 2025. It is similar to a Hackathon but instead, you have 2 months, not just 2 days. Participation is open to individuals and to teams with at least one person having a UD affiliation. ?? University of Delaware researchers from the Center for Plastics Innovation and the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, led by DSI Affiliated Faculty member Dion Vlachos, Unidel Dan Rich Chair in Energy, have developed a method to tackle end-of-life tire decontamination from a molecule known as 6PPD, which provides UV protection to help the rubber found in tires last longer.
