Like many people, my relationship with my dentist is “complicated.” ? On the one hand, I wish I never had to worry about my teeth at all. ? On the other hand, reality says I need to periodically visit my dentist for a healthy mouth, but also a healthy body. ? Studies have shown good dental care also helps with a reduced risk of heart disease, stroke, diabetes, and even pneumonia. ? I was in a group email. Little did I realize, I was stuck on a merry-go-round ride. ? The first email went out at 9:45am. ? I was not asked to do anything. ? A series of emails went back and forth for about 2 hours. ? At about 12:00pm I was asked for my opinion. ? At about 1:00pm another email went out, asking me for my opinion. ? At 3:00pm another email went out, "Dave, we can't move forward, we need your answer!" ? Why didn't I answer? ? I was in a series of meetings and the first time I saw the email was…3:15pm. ? Email should NEVER be considered for instant or time sensitive needs. ? Save yourself time…pick-up the phone, send a text. ? If you need any answer quick - move away from digital and shift towards physical. ? Don’t set unrealistic expectations for someone else. Can friendship be measured by a scientific process? I saw this asked on a blog and is has stuck with me since. ? Are more friends better? Are fewer and deeper relationships better? How do you define a friend? ? I have 4 very close friends from my high school years. They are like brothers, like family. I am benefitting from those relationships. I am a better person because of them. ? There was no method or process. I did not seek to choose them. They did not seek to choose me. ? Yet, they have helped me personally. They have helped me in business. ? Their friendship is tangible and real. Measurable, in some ways both emotionally and tangibly. ? My friends are time management and personal development assets. ?
