This week, we bid farewell to our amazing director.?After much consideration, Susan decided to transition out of her position as Center Director and pass the baton to our former Facility and Grounds Coordinator, Marco. Susan’s contributions have made a lasting impact, and we are incredibly grateful for everything she has done.?Please join us in wishing?her all the best in her next chapter! We’re excited to welcome Marco into his new position as Center Director! Marco has been an integral part of The Peaks for the past two years as our Facility and Grounds Coordinator. We are happy that his hard work, adventure activity facilitation experience, and in-depth knowledge of the facility will continue to benefit The Peaks in this new position. The Peaks Retreat and Adventure Center is a 66-acre conference and event facility located 30 minutes outside of Roanoke, Virginia. On-site, the center features 8,500 square feet of indoor event space, a 1,000 square foot caterer’s kitchen, and on-site lodging for up to 80 guests. Amenities include an outdoor stage, amphitheater, hiking trails, zip-line, climbing-wall, low ropes course, swimming pool, pond, sand volleyball court, basketball court and multiple large open fields. With scenic views of the Blue Ridge Mountains, The Peaks is an ideal location for events ranging from youth camps to corporate retreats to weddings.

It’s national FFA week! Did you know that FFA (Future Farmers of America) isn’t just about farming? In addition to agricultural knowledge, FFA emphasizes skills like teamwork, public speaking, and problem-solving. As part of a larger nonprofit that seeks to inspire and motivate learners of all ages, The Peaks is a proud supporter of organizations like FFA. We’re grateful to have community connections like Liberty High School FFA, who has volunteered at The Peaks in the past, and we look forward to welcoming more chapters in the future.?Our space is ideal for students to explore entrepreneurship and service-based SAE (Supervised Agricultural Experience) projects, as well as build teamwork and leadership skills.? Although they don’t always wear boots to the office, some of our very own staff are farmers and even FFA alumni. Out of the office, you can find Marco running a Boer goat farm and Madison helping out on the family cattle farm! Join us in celebrating the impact FFA has on our future leaders and the communities they serve!

Madison joins us from Vinton, VA, bringing degrees in Animal Science and Natural Resources, as well as K-12 facilitation experience from her time teaching in Idaho. Although new to the area, she is eager to make a positive impact and create memorable experiences for all The Peaks’ visitors. We’re thrilled to have her on board!?
