Well now, I’ve had a busy few weeks/months leading up to #NCLW and I’ve not had time to stop and really process it… This is my 11th year of being involved with #NCLW and I think it was the best so far, a real privilege to be involved in it. here’s some highlights from the last few weeks:
?? seeing the buzz of activity from #careexperienced individuals and colleagues, partner charities and local authorities as they launched reports, met with MPs and Ministers, lit up buildings, planted #positivitrees, held proms, award events, days out….there just seemed to be so much going on this year ??
??After months of planning with our YPBMF Champions and Legends we finally got to Birmingham to run our 9th Annual YPBMF Celebration Event and it was a cracker.
??This year more than ever we saw experienced care experienced professionals supporting our Champions & Legends to facilitate panels around our ITOW reports, organise a fun zone, creative activities, deliver speeches and host and awards ceremony ??
??The NLCBF project entries, finalists and winners for coproduced projects were outstanding (more about that in a later post)…but for now I salute everyone involved well done to Hull “The Recuitables” as runners up and to Warwickshire for the winning “Brothers and Sisters” project ??
?? Our winners of the YPBMF Best Public Speaker, Champion of the Year, Positive Message, Networker, Best Poster and all the nominees and entries ??
?? We had our first YPBMF Legends Graduation recognising our alumni Champions and the power and inspiration of our growing YPBMF Family ??????????
?? The next day we had our best PA Celebration event yet, a room crammed full of passionate professionals sharing their passion with inspiring key notes from Brett S. and Mary-anne Hodd and of course our YPBMF Legend ITOW session
??Inspirational award winners and nominations of PA Team of the Year, PA of The Year, Lifetime Achievement and a proud moment seeing YPBMF Original Legend Jade Aitken (Ward) winning the Rising Star PA Award…my ?? was full
??After 3 days preparing and running our own events in Birmingham, many would go home but with our last bits of energy we headed to a fantastic National Association of Supported Accommodation Partners (NASAP) conference where two of our Legends, Mark and Dyllan joined the team to deliver a #InTheirOwnWords workshop to over 150 supported accommodation professionals ??
It’s time to rest up and recharge. Looking forward to the NHP (National House Project) Care Leavers National Movement conference next week to meet up with some of favourite people and be inspired all over again.
