The New Jersey Chapter of The Nature Conservancy (TNC) is hiring two Cape May Stewardship Assistants to work outdoors managing both habitat and visitors at two flagship preserves in Cape May County, New Jersey. The Stewardship Assistants are the public face of TNC at our preserves and informs visitors and volunteers about the preserves and the organization. Caught on camera! Our trail camera at Johnsonburg Swamp Preserve has been picking up all sorts of critters recently. This 700+ acre preserve is a habitat stronghold within Bobcat Alley, a vital corridor of protected land that The Nature Conservancy and partners are working to create in northwestern New Jersey. This greenway connects critical migratory habitat between and along ridges of the Kittatinny and Highlands mountains, both subranges of North America's Appalachian Mountains. Another win for wildlife! On Monday, March 10, The Nature Conservancy in New Jersey was on hand to register its support and offer testimony in the Assembly Transportation and Independent Authorities committee for A4926. This bill would create the state's first Wildlife Corridor Action Plan. TNC is happy to report the legislation passed out of committee and now continues its movement through the Assembly. Thank you Senator Smith and Assemblyman Calabrese for your leadership on this crucial legislation, and thank you to our supporters who took action to elevate the importance of this bill.
