Through our partnership with the Department of Defense’s SkillBridge program and Hiring Our Heroes, our Military Fellowship Program is open to transitioning service members, military spouses, and veterans. Since 2019, we’ve hosted more than 200 fellows in our stores, corporate offices, and distribution centers supporting all areas of our company. On any given night, an average of 35,000 veterans experience homelessness across the country. We are committed to helping find safe and affordable housing for our nation’s heroes: https://lnkd.in/eZn3TxMA Through a new $9 million investment, we will work with local and national nonprofit partners to: ?? Build or rehab more than 500 units to provide new affordable housing for veterans ?? Find and secure existing housing for an additional 3,000 homeless veterans ?? Fund landlord incentive programs, a crucial initiative in overcoming the barriers faced by at-risk and homeless veterans in finding sustainable housing ?? Support essential research, studies and training on aging, rural, low-income and disabled veterans, as well as housing trends and specific housing needs

Last week, we welcomed our newest cohort of Military Fellows through the Department of Defense’s SkillBridge program. They will spend the next 11 weeks working in our stores, supply chain facilities, and corporate facilities, learning directly from leaders to help prepare them for a career outside the military.
