The Commander Initiative was founded July 21, 2018, by Eddie Pitt, President, and CEO of Cooper Professionals LLC., as the key to leverage purchasing power by the pooling of funds within a secured network. Mr. Pitt, after working executive level positions for more than 20 years with the conglomerates such as Service Corporation International, Stewart Enterprise, Stonemor Corp, and other major corporate giants, saw the need for a unified conglomerate purchasing hub. The Commander Initiative gave birth to a viable solution to reduce cost through volume purchases and cooperative networking. In the first year, The Initiative grew into a national network of leading independent funeral homes/funeral service providers performing a combined total of over 18,000 services per year. This network has continued with a commitment to the concept of cooperative buying of essential products & services needed to run our funeral homes. Major supplier and vendors have responded to our initiative. The formulation of our membership/vendor relationship network is proving to be a step in the right direction. We are constantly accepting and reviewing bids offering discounts and other preferred terms in return for our volume purchasing. Partners began purchasing from these pools in the second quarter of 2019 and continue to experience the power of collective spending.
