The Future of Textiles: Innovation Meets Sustainability Vietnam is rapidly emerging as a global hub for textile innovation, and VIATT Vietnam reflected that dynamic spirit throughout its two-day fringe program. International experts, local pioneers, and creative minds gathered to explore the trends driving our industry forward. At the heart of the program were a series of engaging panel discussions. Sustainability –?the key driver of modern textile innovation – was certainly one of the dominant topics. Sessions like "Shaping a Sustainable Textile Future Through Innovation" and "The Future of Sustainability in Vietnam’s Fashion Industry" delved into green technologies, circular production practices, and emerging business models. It was great to welcome Danh Tran, Vice President of VDAS Design Association Vietnam, back on stage at one of our Texpertise events. She expertly moderated the panel on "Sustainable Interiors with Smart Textiles". The discussion showcased how innovative materials and smart textile solutions are redefining interior design and driving sustainable practices –?with impact not just on products, but on entire spaces. Wendy Wen, Managing Director, and Wilmet Shea, General Manager, both Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd were happy to host Silvia Jungbauer, representing Verband Gesamtmasche. Her participation, aimed at exploring new opportunities for German companies, further highlights the importance of VIATT and reinforces Vietnam’s growing potential as a key market for Germany and beyond. Overall, the trade fair proved to be the perfect platform to capture the pulse of the textile industry. #VIATT2025 #TextileInnovation #Sustainability #ASEAN #MesseFrankfurt #TextileExcellence #Vietnam #IndustryInsights Claudia FRANZ, Director of Brand Management for Interior & Contract Textiles/Apparel Fabrics & Fashion at Messe Frankfurt Exhibition GmbH

Vietnam: Experience the Heartbeat of Textile Innovation & Sustainability Vietnam’s textile industry is booming—projected exports of USD 44 billion in 2024 and its rise as the world’s second-largest garment exporter after China—having recently overtaken Bangladesh—cement its status as a key global hub. With its strategic location, competitive costs, and strong commitment to sustainability and innovation, Vietnam is attracting textile manufacturers and fashion brands worldwide. Against this dynamic context, the Vietnam International Trade Fair for Apparel, Textiles and Textile Technologies (VIATT) 2025, held from February 26 – 28 at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center in Ho Chi Minh City, has emerged as a must-attend event for textile professionals and industry players from ASEAN, Europe, and beyond. In just its second year, VIATT Vietnam has already established itself as the most comprehensive textile trade fair in ASEAN. Hosting 450+ exhibitors from 24+ countries and regions, the event spans the full textile value chain: Apparel Fabrics & Fashion, Home & Contract Textiles, and Technical Textiles & Technologies. This edition places a strong emphasis on what’s next for the industry by introducing two exciting new areas: The Econogy Hub: A dedicated space spotlighting sustainable practices and eco-friendly innovations, underscoring the industry's commitment to a greener future. The Innovation & Digital Solutions Zone: Unveiling breakthrough technologies such as AI design, digital manufacturing, and big data analytics. A dedicated European Zone—featuring key players from France, Portugal, and beyond—further reinforces global relevance of this event. VIATT’s success reaffirms Vietnam’s role in textile innovation—and Messe Frankfurt’s vision in shaping the future. #VIATT2025 #TextileInnovation #Sustainability #ASEAN #MesseFrankfurt #TextileExcellence #Vietnam
