We look forward to continuing to elevate the financial planning profession through competition, support, and collaboration. Each program listed here is making incredible strides to build the next generation of financial planning professionals and specifically speaks towards the value of CFP Board educational programs rooted within Colleges of Health and Human Sciences as creating outstanding training and skill-building environments focused on being both content experts and effective communicators. Congratulations to Ph.D. students Van Dinh and Vikesh Kumar who were both awarded Best Research Paper awards by the CFP Board. Van was awarded for her paper titled “Cryptocurrency Investment Mechanism: Exploring the Role of Financial Education, Investment Knowledge, and Risk” and Vikesh for his titled “U.S. Household Financial Well-being & Crypto Investment Decisions”.

Texas Tech Wins Second Consecutive National Financial Planning Challenge The team of three undergraduates, led by a faculty adviser, won the national competition after a series of three phases that began in June. Texas Tech University School of Financial Planning

Our faculty and staff spent the day together at our annual retreat redefining our Strategic Plan for the next five years, including our purpose, vision, and mission. It was energizing to have our whole team together! We especially thank our remote faculty members who traveled to join us along with the team from Outreach and Engagement, who guided us throughout the day.
