Over the weeks leading up the CHLOE awards ceremony on December 5, we will spotlight each of our nominees and how they are key to our team and our success. First, meet Shuchita Singh, who is nominated for the Courage to Innovate Award.? This category acknowledges women who challenge the status quo, seek opportunities to improve products, services and/or customer experience and take risk to help TELUS grow. Shuchita is a dedicated machine learning engineer on the AI Accelerator team at TELUS. Applying her innovation to various projects, she has successfully reduced training time by 20% on a key initiative.? If you think you’ve seen Shuchita around at our various events, that is because she is also a champion of mentorship, organizing events like the Women in AI Hackathon, and ensuring new grad and junior team members are meaningfully involved in projects. We’re thrilled to spotlight one of our own, Ignacio Tampe Palma, who was recently invited as a panelist at the *Breaking Barriers* event in Vancouver! ??? Ignacio shared his journey as an immigrant in the tech industry, discussing the unique challenges he has faced and the resilience it takes to thrive. Reflecting on the event, he said: “This event provided a powerful platform for professionals like myself to share our experiences and learn from one another." Ignacio's journey is nothing short of inspiring. He studied computer science in Chile and completed his thesis on a research exchange with Dalhousie University under the ELAP program. His expertise spans NLP, time series, non-relational databases, and machine learning.
