The Institute for Law Enforcement and Protective Services Excellence division of TEEX provides specialized training for police officers, law enforcement dispatchers, security officers, and jail and detention personnel through traditional and online training. Our training catalog is filled with nearly 100 courses that range in topics suitable for basic to advanced professionals and eligible for Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) credit. Course offerings include basic peace officer course, defensive tactics, special weapons and tactics (SWAT), explosive breaching, crash investigations, forensic science topics, crime scene investigation, first line supervisor, and instructor courses.

TEEXans have been busy teaching Advanced Ordnance Recognition for Law Enforcement (AORLE) and Basic Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Training at the RELLIS Campus this week! Hazardous Device School certified Bomb Technicians and ATF's Certified Explosive Specialists (CES) in the AORLE course have been learning how to recognize and identify numerous types of military ordnance through classroom instruction as well as hands-on training. Out in the field, SWAT team members have been learning and applying concepts for special threats and clearing structures while conducting live fire drills relevant to the environment. TEEX is "Keeping Texas Prepared" in Hondo this week by instructing two courses for local agencies! Officers taking the Photography for Patrol course are learning from one of our Training Coordinators, Casie Parish Fisher, PhD, how to capture quality photographs in the field and while on patrol.
