Congratulations are in order to our very own Shaphan R.! Dr. Roberts successfully defended his dissertation and celebrated with the below announcement. We are so proud of our team here at Straus Institute and look forward to all that's ahead! "After three incredible years of hard work and perseverance, I am thrilled to announce that I have successfully defended my dissertation and am now officially Dr. Roberts! My committee unanimously approved my defense, and I have earned my doctorate in Business Psychology, with a focus on civil unrest and its impact on community-police relations. This is a critical and timely topic that I am deeply passionate about, especially given the pressing issues we face in today’s society. This journey has been immensely rewarding, and I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who supported me along the way. Your encouragement and belief in me made all the difference! Cheers to new beginnings and the next chapter ahead! ?? Yesterday I started teaching my 13th year (39th semester) in the Pepperdine Mediation Clinic with my friend, Judge Alexander Williams III. Judge William's dedication to the dispute resolvers of tomorrow is unparalleled. He has taught the Clinic for over 23 years. Judge William's is a phenomenal educator; his students simply adore him. And I do too. Forty years ago today, Judge Williams was appointed by the Governor of California to the Los Angeles Superior Court. Pepperdine Caruso Law alumna Rachel D. Robinson (JD '14) was sworn in as a judge on the Virginia Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court for the 20th Judicial District. Robinson will serve for a six-year term, which began on April 1, 2024. Read more here: https://bit.ly/4frU2mx
