As Black History Month begins, we’re proud to highlight the progress of our Black Experience Business Inclusion Group (BeBIG), one of our employee-led resource groups at Steelcase. Open to all employees, BeBIG was formed to foster a culture where Black employees and allies can come together to advance equal opportunities, authenticity and belonging. This past fall, BeBIG hosted its first summit, bringing together community partners, local business leaders and employees from across Steelcase. The three-day event created space for meaningful conversations about the Black experience in the workplace, identified barriers to belonging and explored opportunities for growth. One participant reflected, “I felt empowered after the summit to go out and try to make Steelcase a better place for everyone.” This summit is just one example of how we work across our network of Business Inclusion Groups to create spaces where all employees, partners and customers feel seen, heard and valued.
