How do extreme weather events impact early childhood programs and the families they serve? SRI Education's Todd Grindal, co-director of the Center for Learning & Development, and researchers Paul Burkander and Nicholas Ortiz have released a first-of-its-kind study revealing how severe weather disrupts early childhood services. Their findings show that closures leave families without essential support, while the remaining open sites struggle to meet surging demand, often at the expense of developmental screenings and other critical services. "These programs need to have the same level of priority as hospitals, police departments, and emergency services," said Grindal. Learn more https://lnkd.in/gDEN5zXr.

Who really decides which educational products make it into classrooms?? ? In a new blog from the LEARN Network, SRI Education’s Keena W. uncovers that while teachers and school leaders are deeply involved in selecting educational tools, the voices of students, parents, and community members are often left out. This gap in the procurement process means valuable insights from those most impacted by these tools are missing from key decisions.?? ? This blog highlights why including a wider range of voices in procurement is essential for meeting diverse learning needs and fostering a more inclusive educational experience.? ?
