Most commonly held at the York Expo Center, these competitions bring in a great deal of impactful visitors annually. The York Rose Bowl brought in teams from Canada, Philadelphia, local York County high schools, and more. Explore York's Tourism Grant Program awarded funding for this exciting event too! I had the pleasure of attending the PA Sports Summer Summit in beautiful York PA (thank you, Sport York!) and was thrilled to exhibit alongside Rebecca Kim from Wind Creek Bethlehem Meetings at both County Commissioners Association of Pennsylvania Annual Meeting and the ASAE: The Center for Association Leadership Annual Conference. Sport York, an Explore York initiative,?is designed to recruit sporting events and generate additional economic impact throughout York County. York County, PA is conveniently located and ready to host?your next sporting event or tournament. Easily accessible from many mid-Atlantic areas including Baltimore (1 hour), Washington DC (under 2 hours), Philadelphia (under 2 hours), New York (about 3.5 hours) and Pittsburgh (about 3 hours). Our county has hosted so many different kinds of events, it's hard to keep track! It's #NationalInternDay, and we couldn't be more grateful for the ones we have! Lydia Wilt has been with Explore York for about a year now. The way we've seen her grow over her time with us is remarkable. There aren't enough words to describe how helpful, intelligent, and valuable Lydia has been. Both personally and professionally, she has been one of our greatest assets. Lydia will be leaving us soon to attend college and sharpen her skills even further. We're both thrilled to see her continue to grow and be successful, yet sad to see her go. Thanks for all you've done, Lydia! Drew Ginnever has been with Explore York for almost two months now. He currently attends York College majoring in Sports Management. Drew is always eager to help out and takes on all tasks efficiently. His background in sports makes him a great fit when it comes to Sport York efforts too! He's a great addition to the team and an absolute joy to have around.
