What sources of energy will provide the low carbon electricity needed, today and in the future,?and what does that mean for CCS??? ? No matter which report on electricity demand you look at, the demand for electricity is expected to grow anywhere from a conservative 6% to a more aggressive 30%. Much of this demand growth is attributed to AI and data centers.?? ? Supporting Decarbonization Journeys Our industrial decarbonization team has been awarded a contract by Romania's largest natural gas producer S.N.G.N. Romgaz S.A. to assist in repurposing depleted gas fields into CO2 storage facilities. This significant project aligns with ROMGAZ's ambitious decarbonization strategy and supports the EU's crucial climate goals. Leveraging our expertise in subsurface characterization and reservoir engineering, we will help ROMGAZ develop a robust framework for identifying and developing suitable CO2 storage sites, taking into account geological and technical criteria, surface restrictions, and regulatory requirements. This project aims to establish a framework for transforming depleted gas reservoirs into storage facilities, enabling ROMGAZ to offer CO2 transportation and storage services to industries with decarbonization obligations, such as fertilizer, cement, and glass producers.
