This past Monday, we had the privilege of hosting Gerry Murphy, Managing Director and Vice-Chairman at J.P. Morgan, and Eoin Monahan, Vice-President at Hennion & Walsh Both alumni shared their journeys at Seton Hall University, highlighting the resources and support they received during their time here. They underscored the critical role of hard work and dedication in achieving professional success. A key takeaway from their insights was the importance of building and maintaining relationships through small, thoughtful gestures—an essential skill in the business world. Gerry Murphy also shared three important skills every student should develop: 1. The ability to deliver information concisely. 2. The skill to analyze and interpret data effectively. 3. The art of being an impactful presenter. Their advice serves as an inspiration for us all to follow our goals and take full advantage of the opportunities at Seton Hall.

In October, I had the opportunity to return to my alma mater, Seton Hall University, and mentor entrepreneurship students at the Seton Hall Stillman School of Business's Entrepreneur Speed Dating Networking Forum. It was an incredible opportunity to share my journey with these aspiring entrepreneurs, including how I created SHU Cybersecurity Club and leveraged that experience to secure my current role as a Cybersecurity Consultant at EY. Giving back to the Seton Hall University community is always rewarding, and I’m inspired by the creativity and drive of the next generation of entrepreneurial leaders. Last week, the Seton Hall College of Human Development, Culture, and Media gathered in Atlantic City during the New Jersey Education Association (NJEA) Convention, where faculty, alumni, and friends had the opportunity to connect, learn, and grow together.
