Last week, I had the incredible opportunity to visit Univision New York HQ Location in Teaneck, NJ, alongside fellow students from the The Joseph A. Unanue Latino Institute at Seton Hall University. This experience was truly inspiring and left a lasting impression on all of us. A heartfelt thank you to Lori Tarke, DHSc. for creating this amazing opportunity and for her unwavering dedication to student success. I’d also like to express my deepest gratitude to: Roberto Ya?ez, Regional President of Univision, for sharing his invaluable insights and guidance. Bill Tipacti, Director of Community Affairs and proud Seton Hall Alumni, for reminding us of the power of hard work and community connections. Estefania Chavez, for making this happen and words of encouragement! Chris Mambo, head of 96.3 Univision Radio, for welcoming us into the studio and giving us the once-in-a-lifetime chance to speak on air. From the full studio tour to engaging with the talented radio and TV celebrities of Univision, the experience was not just educational but also empowering. Being surrounded by such accomplished professionals in a dynamic environment has strengthened my aspirations and drive. This past Monday, we had the privilege of hosting Gerry Murphy, Managing Director and Vice-Chairman at J.P. Morgan, and Eoin Monahan, Vice-President at Hennion & Walsh Both alumni shared their journeys at Seton Hall University, highlighting the resources and support they received during their time here. They underscored the critical role of hard work and dedication in achieving professional success. A key takeaway from their insights was the importance of building and maintaining relationships through small, thoughtful gestures—an essential skill in the business world. Gerry Murphy also shared three important skills every student should develop: 1. The ability to deliver information concisely. 2. The skill to analyze and interpret data effectively. 3. The art of being an impactful presenter. Their advice serves as an inspiration for us all to follow our goals and take full advantage of the opportunities at Seton Hall.
