My first Hackathon has been a wild experience. I wanted to go out from my comfort zone so I decided to attend urbe.eth 's event without knowing anyone in the community, arriving without a team and being kinda new to the Web3 world. Honestly? I could never have had a better idea. I had the chance to meet talented and inspiring people as Christian Kobril who had no prejudice and didn't hesitate at all to believe in my skills and in my ideas. I was so lucky to being mentored by Sean Conrad who showed me how beautiful and complex Rust can be, even when at 3:30 AM, in my 10 hours long streak of fixing errors, I was still in the Hacker Arena asking him question while trying to understand the most I could. I can not mention also how kind and motivating him and Luca Fortes have been. Since the first moment I told them why I was there they filled my heart with words of encouragement and tips to hack for my very first time. My goal for this Hackathon was to learn as much as possible and connect with people, and I already was happy and proud of me before Secret Network announced their winners. Then they announced that our project won their FIRST PLACE PRIZE ?? !!!! I bursted into happiness tears, it has been the most emotional moment in my programming career, especially because I was the one in the project who focused on Secret integration. #ethrome was an AMAZING hackathon event organized by urbe.eth! More than 100 hackers faced a 40+ hours challenge, building new products about Privacy and Account Abstraction. I have witnessed how the Italian blockchain community rocks! ?? With Roberta D'Agostino we built "Cacio 'N Care", a platform that allows you to take control of your health information with the power of zkPass proofs and Secret Network storage. As many of you may have experienced, data leakage/transmission in healthcare is something quite tricky. We want to solve this issue by allowing people to easily access their medical prescriptions or medical info and hand them over to pharmacies and doctors, without the need to manually bring a lot of papers with them! Our project even won the first prize bounty by Secret Network! ?? ?? We could not be prouder! It's been a wild run, but we had so much fun and learned a lot of new stuff that will be useful for our next projects. I’m so grateful for all the amazing people I met there! ?? We are excited to launch the Secret Builders’ Program in collaboration with Etherlink! Etherlink is the only non-custodial EVM Layer 2 in the industry and is powered by the Tezos blockchain. Secret Builders’ Program has been in beta and comes to formal launch this month. ICYMI: We’re excited to finally unveil the DeCC Alliance and Secret’s involvement in it! https://lnkd.in/e_yJDUzW This group of 20+ Web3 projects aims to spread awareness of #DeCC technologies, educate the public on its necessity, and develop new solutions together! While speaking with related projects at ETHDenver 2024, we realized the need for more public education on decentralized confidential computing technologies, to distinguish them from “privacy coins” - cryptocurrencies like Monero that provide transactional privacy. DeCC projects provide the ability to create smart contracts with encrypted data, perform both on-chain and off-chain calculations confidentially, and store confidential information on a blockchain, capabilities far more advanced than simply sending a token privately. We started to collect related projects into a group chat at ETHDenver, and over the following months added more members and established the term #DeCC as a new name for this category of Web3 technology - decentralized confidential computing. We're proud to be working alongside Acurast Association, Aleo, Arcium, Automata Network, Fairblock, Fhenix, iExec, Inco, Integritee, INTMAX , Marlin, Mind Labs, Oasis, Partisia Blockchain, Phala Network, Swisstronik, #TenProtocol, Ternoa, and Zama in the DeCC Alliance, and will no doubt be onboarding additional projects over time. We believe that decentralized confidential computing is the key to mainstream adoption of Web3!
