This month, we celebrate International Women's Day, a date to celebrate women's achievements in various fields and to reinforce the need to continue promoting gender equality. In science and technology, this agenda is even more essential. According to UNESCO, only 33% of scientific researchers in the world are women. In Brazil, they represent around 30% of professionals in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics), facing challenges such as lack of representation and gender stereotypes. At Schneider Electric, we believe that education is key to breaking these barriers. Through the Youth Education & Entrepreneurship Program, supported by the Schneider Electric Foundation, we are proud to collaborate with initiatives like STEM Brasil. By providing hands-on training, equipment, and opportunities, we empower students and teachers to build skills in automation, electronics, and renewable energy—and inspire more young women to see a future for themselves in STEM. One of these students is Albanes, an 18-year-old in her final year of electronics at ETEC. Thanks to the donation of materials and training, she had the opportunity to work with PLC programming for the first time—a skill that will shape her future in automation. Her journey is proof that access to education creates opportunities, builds confidence, and changes lives. To all young women stepping into STEM: embrace the challenge, take every opportunity, and never stop learning—your future is full of potential! ?? Watch the video to hear Albanes’ story and see the impact of our programs in action. See how we're building a sustainable future through youth education.
