The future of #gastroenterology isn’t coming—it’s already here. The question isn’t whether we will shape it or be shaped by it. The real question is—will gastroenterology return to its deeper purpose, or will it drift toward irrelevance? Hippocrates famously said, "All disease begins in the gut." But what if we’ve forgotten what that truly means? What if, in the rush toward volumes, RVUs, consolidation, and automation, we’ve lost sight of the depth of GI's role in healing? Tomorrow, I’ll be at the #AGA Future Leaders Program leading a Mind-Shift Session—not just about AI, new business models, or the rise of physician-entrepreneurs, but about reclaiming the very essence of gastroenterology. The shift we are experiencing isn’t just technological—it’s a call to reimagine what GI care must mean. And that begins with #mindset. For decades, GI (and medicine itself) has evolved linearly—more procedures, more tools, more efficiency. But now, the shift is exponential. AI, robotics, precision medicine, and digital health aren’t just innovations—they are forces that will either amplify what’s broken or create an entirely new way forward. So how do we prepare? This workshop will push beyond conventional thinking and surface the real questions that matter: ?? What does the future of GI care look like in 2035? ?? What must happen TODAY to prepare? ?? What are the biggest risks and opportunities ahead? The biggest disservice we could do to GI is to preserve it as it is. Leadership isn’t about keeping things intact—it’s having the courage to build a bridge to the future even when things aren’t clearly visible. This is an important inflection point for GI and healthcare. Will you watch it happen from the sidelines, or will you lead the shift? #Mindset #Leadership #TheShift #FutureOfGI #MindShift #ExponentialChange #AGAFutureLeaders Thank you American Gastroenterological Association (AGA) for having the courage to lead GI to the future.
