SBN has named Jenni Arnold, owner of Badgerland Offroad, as the network's newest #SheIsSEMA?spotlight member! ? Badgerland Offroad has been in business for five years, and Jenni enjoys most about her job is helping her customers learn about their 4x4 and watching them grow, as well as watching their 4x4 become everything they wanted. "Being a woman in the off-road industry has its own challenges," said Jenni. "But owning a business requires a lot of balance between all aspects of the behind-the-scenes work, constant learning about industry needs, vehicles and what customers want, as well as making customers happy, and taking time away to spend with family and take a break. ? It felt divinely timed that the keynote I was to deliver yesterday at the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) SBN Women’s Leadership Symposium was about empathetic listening. ? You know those nudges or little “love taps” that God/ the universe gives you when you’re not on your path? The more you ignore them, the louder they get. ??? Well, there’s also an energetic “spark.” And the first I can remember, since taking the leap on my own, was when I found out that Lyn St James was one of the other speakers! It was a “pinch me”moment. It was a soul spark, reaffirming that I was on the right path. ??You see, I grew up going to the Indy 500 every year. And, Lyn St James was the only female driver on the grid. How many of us girls and women cheered her on because of what and who she represented; US! Looking back, Lyn is probably one of the first examples of female representation that I can remember; What an honor to share the stage with her. ???Yesterday, I felt another Spark as I prepared to head to the Las Vegas Convention Center. I thought about the significance of the moment, and the diverse feelings of the women in the room. And I “got to” speak to and with a room of women investing in their growth. I was called to contribute in a positive way to bring hope, connection and solutions, to help us all move forward, and that was a different type of God moment. It was louder. It felt deeply personal and soul stirring; it felt like the “this is what I am supposed to be doing” kind. And I just felt overwhelmed with gratitude that I chose the path that would take me there. ?I share this because maybe like me, it’s been a minute since you’ve felt a Soul Spark. Maybe the nudge has been getting louder; Maybe it feels more like a face punch by now! But here’s the good news; You know how when your veering off your path, God‘s gentle nudge, will get louder and louder until you listen? Well, when you’re on the right one, those Sparks get louder too! My hope is that if you’re feeling those tough nudges, that you choose to listen to them, so you can start feeling the Sparks. It’s not just for you, it’s for everyone’s highest good! ?? Because remember- the rising tide lifts all boats! ?? ?? I am so grateful for this experience, to learn from and share the stage with Lyn St James and Ann Sheu (I can’t wait to work on my “Decade Dream,”) for the amazing women I got to connect with, and to walk out feeling more connected and hopeful myself. ?? SBN named Nakita McGinnis, owner of SquatchCustom, as the network's newest #SheIsSEMA?spotlight member! ?? Nakita started her small business two years ago. What she enjoys most is being able to not only do something that she enjoys by helping others customize their vehicles with decals and overlays, but also being able to show her two daughters that you can do anything you set your mind to. "The best advice I've received and that has helped me is don't give up," said Nakita. "No matter what, keep going and keep trying.
