Sahara Group Launches MADAA Programme to Support Young Innovators in Africa Energy conglomerate, Sahara Group, through its social impact vehicle, SAHARA GROUP FOUNDATION, has officially launched the Making a Difference Around Africa (MADAA) programme, The initiative is aimed at fostering enterprise development among young innovators. Speaking at the launch event that took place in Lagos, Kola Adeshina, the Group Managing Director (GMD), emphasized that MADAA targets extraordinary innovators utilizing local resources to create sustainable environments. The event featured stakeholders from corporate businesses and entrepreneurs discussing how the initiative can help youths drive sustainable economic growth. Adeshina highlighted the programme's goal of encouraging African youths to consider entrepreneurship as a primary career path and to develop sustainable business ventures. The initiative seeks to create a pipeline of passionate entrepreneurs ready to tackle everyday challenges and bring homegrown innovations to the global market. Beneficiaries would have access to a robust suite of resources, including financial and investment support worth USD 100 M and mentorship from seasoned industry experts. Application to MADAA is now live till the end of November. Shortlisting of candidates begins in December with successful candidates undergoing six months of training ahead of the final selection of beneficiaries to feature in the actual MADAA program which starts in the first quarter of 2025. Speaking at the unveiling of MADAA, which attracted stakeholders from corporate businesses, entrepreneurs, and members of the press, Chidilim Menakaya, Head of Programs at Sahara Group Foundation, said the initiative promises sustainable economic opportunities to its target demography, which are budding entrepreneurs with remarkable business ideas.
