Thank you to everyone who joined us for an insightful discussion on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at 12:00 PM, where we explored the systemic inequities impacting health outcomes in our communities. This session was the first installment of a five-part monthly series dedicated to addressing disparities in healthcare access, economic stability, and social well-being. This conversation brought together thought leaders, community advocates, and policy experts committed to dismantling barriers and fostering sustainable, community-driven solutions. Panelists shared innovative strategies, real-world experiences, and collaborative approaches that are making a tangible difference in advancing health equity. Attendees walked away with actionable insights to contribute to ongoing efforts within their own organizations and communities. The event was held in a hybrid format, allowing for both virtual and in-person participation at the Rubschlager Building – 1520 W. Harrison St., 4th Floor Training Room, where lunch was provided for attendees. A huge thank you to our incredible panelists: Ida Nelson, @Marquis Pitts, and @Michelle Zepeda, and a special appreciation to our moderator, Anita Robinson, for leading the discussion. We also extend our gratitude to everyone who attended, both in person and online, for being part of this important dialogue on equity and social change. We look forward to continuing these discussions in the upcoming sessions of this series—stay tuned for more details! To watch the session, click the following link: https://lnkd.in/gfKJF9Ty

  • Free Health Equity Webinar! When: Dec 5, 2024 01:00 PM Eastern Time (US and Canada) Topic: How to Counter Public Health Myths and Elevate Science Now Register in advance for this webinar: https://lnkd.in/gWfGdJB8 <<<MORE INFO>>> For public health researchers, practitioners, and advocates, it’s hard to know how to react to this moment. Skepticism of science is front and center, and many health policy ideas being discussed seem to be rooted in fear, not facts. Those of us who support public health have important, urgent work to do in crafting effective responses. We invite you to join us on Thursday, December 5th at 1pm ET for a webinar hosted by FrameWorks senior advisor, Dr. Julie Sweetland, and moderated by FrameWorks board member and director of the Population Health Institute at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, Dr. Sheri Johnson. The conversation will explore why purveyors of myths and misrepresentations have gained traction in American culture, and which tested framing strategies can effectively push back. Topics to be discussed: ·???????the public mindsets that leave people vulnerable to misinformation about fluoride, vaccination, food additives, and more; ·???????communications traps that leave voices for public health more vulnerable to politicized attacks and erosion of trust; and ·???????the most important framing strategies for dampening disinformation, reducing polarization, rebuilding trust, and elevating science.
