Research and development stand at the heart of our mission, driving our ability to create innovative solutions for laboratories that improve lives around the world. With a new technique that uses color temperature and relatively simple data processing, Roche scientists have found a way to triple the number of targets (e.g., viruses or bacteria) that can be detected in a patient sample with a single diagnostic test. The innovation, called TAGS — short for Temperature-Activated Generation of Signal — created by Igor Kozlov, a Roche scientist, has the potential to help healthcare providers diagnose and ultimately treat infections that have similar symptoms like COVID-19 and the flu while reducing cost and environmental waste. With these types of illnesses, isolating the cause can be critical to providing appropriate treatment. #Diagnostics #TAGS

The elimination of #CervicalCancer is well within reach. But it still causes approximately 4,000 deaths in the U.S. each year. Screening is a key factor behind changing this statistic. We hear many reasons for not getting screened—ranging from a perceived stigma associated with a sexually transmitted infection to living in a medically underserved area. Cultural sensitivities, modesty or embarrassment related to the exam can also pose barriers. Women and people with a cervix – how can we make screening easier and more accessible for you? In this article, Vanessa Bennett, senior international business leader, and Cassandra Ricci, Roche senior manager, alliance development and federal government affairs, share insights on the importance of access and the power of partnerships, including the relationship we have strengthened with Cervivor, Inc. https://lnkd.in/gPARbn8U #CervicalCancerMonth #CervicalHealthMonth #CervicalCancerAwareness
