Meet?Mr.?Cedric?Jefferson, a dedicated educator who truly leads with heart and purpose. His journey has taken him from substitute teaching to history instruction at Val Verde High School?and now?to shaping young lives as a Special Education ED teacher. In?Room 822 – the Class of Champions, every day begins with intentionality. Mr. Jefferson welcomes his students with a warm greeting and an open discussion about their emotional, spiritual, mental, and academic well-being. A?two-minute reflection?sets the tone for gratitude, accompanied by inspirational and gospel music chosen by students. From there, it's all about?growth and learning—students engage in?Math and ELA at their individual levels, aligned with grade-level standards. But beyond academics, daily miracles unfold alongside the challenges. Through connection, consistency, and unwavering support, Mr. Jefferson and his team create a space where students?feel valued, seen, and empowered. ?? "I became an educator because so many people told me I should, based on how I connected with students as a football, basketball, and shot put/discus coach. Now, I walk in my purpose every day." Mr. Jefferson extends his deepest gratitude to?Mrs. Tatian, Mrs. Vasquez, Mr. Rivera, and Ms. Jenny Pramschufer, whose steadfast support makes everything possible. ???Thank you, Mr. Jefferson, for your passion, dedication, and the impact you make in the lives of your students! #EducatorSpotlight #ClassOfChampions #SpecialEducation #PurposeDrivenTeaching #GratitudeInTheClassroom #VVUSD #CenterForTeacherPreparation
