Internal recruiters miss things. I know this is hard to hear but it has to be said. They are missing out on hiring high performers and in some cases don't even know it. It's not a mystery. The reason behind this is pretty clear. Let me explain. I speak from experience having spent a decade inhouse and another decade on the vendor side. As an internal recruiter, there are multiple demands on your time that typically take you away from sourcing and targeting top talent including: ?? Managing high req loads and reviewing 100's of applicants. ?? Managing multiple stakeholders and collaborating with HR functions. ?? Screening candidates, submitting to hiring managers, and following up. ?? Dealing with bureaucracy, compliance, new system implementations, etc. To add to the list, internal recruiting teams are running leaner than ever before with the help of AI but even then... there's just too much to do. ??♂? The point I'm making is that if you're not ahead your behind. Typically internal recruiting functions are are not being proactive and are reacting to what is in front of them. The problem with this is your competing with a marketplace that is all doing the same thing with no leverage. ???? Companies that will win the war for talent will effectively leverage niched down recruiting vendors that are recruiting for roles 6-12 months out. Are you reacting to needs or having conversations today with top talent? If not, you will lose and it won't be pretty. ???????????? ??
