Dolphins Cancer Challenge (DCC) was founded in 2010 by the Miami Dolphins organization as the signature initiative of the Foundation's health impact area and has become the largest fundraising event in the NFL. The DCC's mission is to improve people's lives through financial support for innovative cancer research at Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center. Since inception the DCC has contributed more than $75M towards lifesaving research and care initiatives at Sylvester. Your DCC XIV Heavy Hitter award winners?? These recipients all showed exemplary participation in DCC XIV and embody DCC’s mission to fund live-saving cancer research. Congratulations to all! The Team of the Year Award winner is WOW MKTG for having 273 team members since 2019 and for having raised over $600,000. The Rookie of the Year Award winner is Danielle Merollo for being DCC XIV's top first-time participant fundraiser, raising over $60,000. The Champions Award winner is Jarett Grushka for embodying the spirit of why the DCC was created and for supporting the DCC through a multitude of different avenues. Jarett has raised over $200,00 in 14 straight years of participating in the DCC. The Mad Dog Mandich Courage Award winner is Michael Essington, Esquire for going above and beyond in fundraising, creativity and general support. Michael has moved us, motivated us and challenged us to be even better by leading Team Faith who has raised $362,000 and counting in the last 14 years. The Jason Jenkins Impact Award winner is Janae Tuner for being a beacon of hope and inspiration for many. She's ridden as many as 100 miles with the DCC and her work with Break the Cycle - BTC has not only promoted the joy and benefits of cycling but also has fostered a sense of community and empowerment among our youth. The Team Hurricanes Above and Beyond Award winner is Jeff Wade for his constant determination and participation in the DCC the last 7 years. He's courageously raised over $16,000 while fighting his own cancer battle.
This Monday we celebrated the hard work and dedication of our DCC XIV Heavy Hitters with Berkowitz Pollack Brant Advisors + CPAs and Provenance Wealth Advisors in the Paddock Club at Hard Rock Stadium. We enjoyed a night of great food, great music and most importantly great company ??
