The Ronald McDonald House of Fort Worth’s (RMHFW) young leadership group is known as the Red Shoe Society (RSS). Through fundraising, volunteer efforts and networking events, these diverse professionals are dedicated to the RMHFW mission of offering a supportive, home-like community that eases burdens for seriously ill children and their families. On average, RSS raises more than $50,000 for the House each year. These funds help approximately 900 families stay close to their children by providing nights of lodging at the House.

Member Spotlight of the Month ?? Lauren grew up in Arlington but spent a lot of time in Fort Worth. She knew she wanted to live here as it’s a big city with a strong sense of community. Fun fact about Lauren is she loves old things! When not bowling or at a hockey game, you can catch her searching through estate sales or antique malls for antique and vintage items. Lauren attended several RSS events then attended an all-member meeting. She joined RSS as she felt it was an incredible opportunity to give back to the community and has enjoyed getting to know other young professionals in the process as well. Lauren currently serves as the Services & Volunteerism Co-Chair and the Chili Cook-Off Co-Lead. Her favorite volunteer opportunity is Meals From the Heart! “The last thing these families need to think about while trying to focus on their kiddo is what they’re going to make for dinner so the chance to provide hot and tasty food for them is definitely my favorite.” RSS is grateful to have you, Lauren! #RMHFW #YoungProfessional
