Meet Cara Smarrelli, Global HR Business Partner! Cara brings a unique perspective to her role. She began her career at Johnson and Johnson, working in customer service, reverse logistics and forecasting. Later, she joined KraftHeinz, formerly known as Heinz, to work in demand planning and sales and operations planning. It was during her time at KraftHeinz that she made the career shift from demand and supply planning to human?resources, taking on the role of HR Business Partner and Compensation Manager. In 2016, Cara joined PPG, first working with Architectural Coatings USCA before moving into her current role with Packaging Coatings in 2020. She is also the HR Business Partner for PPG's Specialty Coatings and Materials (SCM) business unit.? We asked Cara four questions to get to know her better, and this is what she had to say: ??What do you love most about PPG?? ???The people. Throughout my different roles in PPG, I’ve been so lucky to have met so many of our amazing team members. Their passion for what they do and how they do it is such an incredible part of our culture.? ??If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would you go? ???The beach! ??Which PPG Way value resonates the most with you and why?? ???“We do better today than yesterday – every day.” When we continue to identify opportunities to improve, and if we keep learning and getting better every day, the possibilities for us to grow are unlimited. ??Tell us about your family. ???My family is my number one priority! I’ve been married to my husband Dave for 18 years and our daughter Alexa is 11. My parents, sister, nieces, nephews, in-laws, and friends who are family make me feel very blessed every day.

On-site support from technical service representatives is available for any service. ?? PPG staffed trials to provide assistance in trialing new products. ?? Basic laboratory services offer a wide range of testing options. ??? Assessing oven curves to help optimize oven operating parameters. ?? Developing an audits plan through on-site visits to audit customer's line or process. ?? Plant conversion or start-up services, including converting lines to non-BPA productions. PPG participated in the Steel Packaging Awards organized by ABEA?O, the Brazilian Steel Packaging Association. This award brought manufacturers, suppliers, and other partners in the industry together to recognize and promote innovations made in the national steel can market. Luca Pereira, our Packaging Coatings Director for Latin America, briefly discussed how the metal packaging industry is evolving. Meet Jenica Eisenbach, Technical Service Director! Jenica joined PPG in 2022 as Packaging Coatings' Global Director for Technical Service. Before that, she spent more than 17 years at Anheuser-Busch InBev (ABInBev), serving in various roles, including quality and operations for both the beer and metal containers business. Prior to joining PPG, Jenica was the Manager of Aluminum Coatings at ABInBev, in which she supported the domestic and global aluminum can sites for Metal Container Corporation (MCC). During her time with MCC, she was responsible for continuous improvement efforts, cost reduction projects, overhaul and maintenance efficiency, technology development, coatings exploration and new line/new product start-ups and expansions within the inside spray and decorator areas. We asked Jenica five questions to get to know her better, and this is what she had to say: ? What is something that people might be surprised to learn about you??? ?? I love to make elaborate cakes for my daughter’s birthdays based on whatever fun theme she picks out that year. ? If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would you go??? ?? I have two bucket list items: seeing the cherry blossoms in Japan and seeing wild horses running throughout the US mountains. ? As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?? ?? An Anthropologist or Archeologist because?I wanted to dig up dinosaur bones! ? What do you love most about PPG?? ?? The people – I love my team! I also love that I am in a position to help our customers. I?remember what it's like to be a canmaker and how valuable a good partnership with the right suppliers can make a difference! ?
